Our first weekend alone didn't go so well - baby boy got sick for the first time. I took him to the doctor on Friday afternoon thinking he had a cold (like me). They checked him out and ran his temp and he was at 100.4 - not good for a little one at all. Since he had a temp they said they had to run some other tests to rule out any other infections. So a quick appointment turned into an all afternoon affair with blood tests, shots and x-rays. I felt so bad for Wyatt - I swear I was crying harder than he was! Thank god for my sister who came with me and was there to help and support - it was a rough day. The next day we went to urgent care to find out our results and make sure he was okay. My mom came with me and again thank god - we had to wait 2 hours to see a doctor and it was hard to entertain little man alone for that long. I must say though, he did EXCELLENT both days and I was so proud of him :) We found out that all the test were negative (WHEW!) and he only had his mom's cold. He is still congested and a little crabby, but he is on his way back to healthy.
Since Friday and Saturday were such long days, we decided not to go down and walk Race for the Cure. It is my mom's 4th year as a survivor and we didn't want to let that day pass her up, so we all cooked her breakfast and hung out to celebrate. Next year baby boy will be walking so we are looking forward to going downtown and participating.
This week Nick is on a fishing trip so we have some more baby/mommy time - which is not near as scary now :) It is also Mike's birthday so we are celebrating with him tonight. We have a more low key weekend planned so I am looking forward to just hanging out and watching the Ducks kick some Arizona State "you know what"!
Side note - 8 weeks ago today I gave birth to Wyatt...can't believe how time has flown and how incredibly lucky we are to have such an amazing little guy in our lives. We are so blessed!
Couple pics from brunch at my mom's house - I made Wyatt's shirt :)
