Cousin time (week 13 pregnancy)

Last Sunday we got together with Nick's family and had the three cousin boys together - they had fun! It was awesome to watch how they all interacted and how excited Wyatt was to be around people "his size" :) It confirms to me how well he will take to a sibling. Although Jake is 7 weeks older, I think Wyatt has overtaken him in height...but Jake still has the girth and toughness on Wyatt. I think Jake enjoyed having Wyatt there as something to hold on to when he wanted to get up :) Luke thought they were both funny and went along with playing and hanging out. All in all, it was super fun to have them all together. Here are a few pics from the day:

As for baby #2, we are officially in our last week of the first trimester...I thought it would never get here! I can tell a difference in energy already, which I need since Wyatt is on the move. I am still not really "showing" but I have a little bump if you look close :) My maternity clothes are out of the attic and awaiting the day I will need them. I'm sure it will be soon :) Baby is now the size of a medium shrimp, all major organs are in place and finger prints are forming as we speak. We have our next appointment on May 11th and will schedule our gender ultra sound at that time. Can't wait!

We are looking forward to Wyatt's first Easter and easter egg hunt next weekend - I will be sure to post up a couple pictures afterward :) Here are a few from this morning to tie you over...

Happy almost Easter!

Guess who's crawling...:)

Yep - it has finally happened...Wyatt is moving! And I am already tired :) He made his first trip yesterday afternoon from his bedroom into the hallway and from there has made his way through the house. We are super excited and so proud of him - what a big boy! He would still rather walk (with assistance), but at least he can get to where he wants to be on his own. It is now REALLY time to babyproof this house...you know what our weekend plans are ;)

Yay for Wyatt boy!

LA Trip and Wedding (week 11 and 12 pregnancy)

Our good friends Jared and Seyhan (Houk!) got married this past weekend in Redondo Beach at an incredible location, and we were lucky enough to be invited and included. Nick was actually the one asked to marry them and he was beyond honored. So, Rev Nick performed his duties and what an incredible job he did! It was just a beautiful ceremony and wonderful reception...congrats to the Houk's!

While in LA, we took some time to check out local spots, walk along the pier, get a HORRIBLE sunburn (that was just me, but I am paying for my sunning time) and sleep in :) We ended up having great weather Sunday and Monday and enjoyed sunny California. Little man was with Mike and Laurie for half the trip and my parents for the last night/day. Thank you so much to all of them for taking such great care of him and for giving us a much needed break :)

Wyatt's favorite thing in the world right now is walking...and it is all he wants to do. Of course, he is not quite ready to venture out on his own, so it means we are holding his hand walking a million circles in our family room :) I do love his determination though...at this rate he will be climbing the walls in a few short weeks!

As for baby #2, we had our dr appt last Monday and all is well! We heard the heartbeat and met our new doctor - who we just love. We also got our first trimester screening tests back and all are negative - whew! So far so good...only one week and we will be in the second trimester. I can't believe it!

As many know, this is my birthday "Month" and my favorite month at that :) I am looking forward to celebrating with my family and friends as I bring on my last year in the 20's!

Happy April,

Wyatt is 8 months old! (week 10 pregnancy)

Our baby boy is now 8 months old! He is so much fun and has such a personality - he loves to "talk", give kisses and hugs, wave hello, look at things upside down, be tickled and bounce! He is still not crawling, but it has to be any day now...he is so close! He loves walking while holding on (or not!) and takes quite a few falls these days. He is just the most handsome little guy in the world (sorry to all the other little boys out there :) and we are having so much fun with him. It is so hard to believe that in 4 months he will be 1 years old...where has the time gone! This has been the fastest year of our lives and I don't think it will slow down anytime soon.

As for the other little baby in our lives, we had our first dr appt yesterday and heard the little heartbeat :) It is music to my ears - such a sense of relief when you get to hear that :) Everything looks good and we are on our way to a family of 4! AND...it just so happens that two of my really good friends are also pregnant right now! Taylor is due 9/5/11 and Kim is due 10/20/11...lots of new babies this fall :) One of our friends Liz had these awesome donut cakes made for us at Voo Doo donuts - they were so cute and tasted awesome :)

We are getting ready to head out to LA this weekend for Jared and Seyhan's wedding - without little man. I am certainly looking forward to some sun, time with my hubby and sleeping in :) However, we will miss our baby so much...he will probably crawl when we are gone or something momentus ;)

Happy Spring,

Wyatt's first St. Patrick's Day (week 9 pregnancy)

We were both so excited for Wyatt's first St. Patrick's Day! Nick and I love the holiday and couldn't wait to celebrate it with our little man! He of course had a few outfits to sport before and on the day - I think he is a perfect little Irishman! :) Thank you to Sandy for the bib - since he always needs one it was nice to have a festive one ;) Wyatt has also been hanging with the dogs a lot more as we continue to try and motivate him to crawl...they seem to be the only thing he cares about :)

As for the pregnancy, baby is now 9 weeks made :) He/she is the size of a grape and the tail is almost gone. Eyelids are formed and the heart is completing its 4 chambers. I am feeling pretty good, just extremely tired. We are really excited for our first appointment on the 28th and in the meantime will go in for our first trimester testing. I am looking forward to my second trimester...:)

Other than that, we are just laying low and trying to rest before the crazy spring/summer kicks off. We are headed to LA for a wedding the first weekend in April and from there it seems every weekend is full until baby #2 arrives! Oh - and then of course there is March Madness starting which is a serious event at our house :)

Baby Bales #2 ON THE WAY!

Yes...we are just crazy enough to have two kids under 2 and only 15 months apart :) We found out two weeks ago we are expecting! We are so so so excited and can't wait to add another kiddo to the Bales clan. It was so much fun telling family and friends...we got quite the range of reactions :) Nick made a onesie for Wyatt that said "Big Brother" and I made a shirt for Nick's side of the fam that said "6" on it for the 6th grandchild. We can't wait until we have a family of 4 and are so incredibly blessed to have what we have. Below are the details of the pregnancy so far, and then we have a few pictures (including one of new baby!) to share :)
  • We are 8 weeks pregnant
  • Due October 19th
  • Had an ultrasound and everything is right on track!
  • Have a dr appt on March 28th

Excited family!

Spokane Trip

Wyatt took his first plane ride to Spokane so we could go visit family last weekend - it was SO MUCH fun! I must say, Wyatt did very well on the plane (even other passengers were commenting!) and we had a great time visiting Mike, Molly, Natalie and Caden. Wyatt had many firsts in Spokane, he went to the park, went on a swing and had a bubble bath :) It was really fun hanging out, seeing extended family, having a BBQ, going out for dinner/drinks and playing with the kiddos. Thank you to the Thompson's for hosting us and for hanging out with us :)

Here are some pics from the weekend...
