The Easter Bunny came!!! (week 15 pregnancy)

We got to celebrate Wyatt's first Easter this year - it was so much fun! We had a packed day, with church, Bales gathering and brunch with the Lindquist's. Wyatt is excellent and looked so handsome :) He loved his Easter baskets and hunting for eggs (really just "spotting" eggs this year) - it was an awesome day. We can't wait to have two little ones on Easter next year :) It was also an exciting day because our good friends Maria and Kris welcomed their baby girl on Easter morning :) Isabella Joe Sleeman came flying into their lives and we are beyond happy for them. I will post some pics of her later :)

As for baby #2, all is going well...I am anxious to see the doctor and see the baby again :) We are trucking right along, and so far so good. I am "showing" if I wear a tight shirt...but my mom and Nick say they still wouldn't know by just looking at me. Soon I know this baby will pop though! I have felt the baby quite a few times which is always a comforting feeling. Now, I just want to know what it is...boy or girl :) I still think boy, but wouldn't be shocked if it was a girl. Nick is holding on and saying girl all the way...we will see!

This week is my "birthday week" and we are heading to the beach for the weekend. We have Wyatt's 9 month check up tomorrow and his 9 month pictures on Friday. Lots of fun stuff planned as we head into May.

Tunnels, Bubbles and Book Babies (week 14 pregnancy)

Wyatt experienced lots of new, fun things this week. We took him to Baby Time at Sherwood Library and he LOVED interacting with the other babies there. He was into the songs, books and of course toys :) He also got a motorized bubble blower...his new favorite thing in the world :) Bubbles will stop his crying, whining, moving, etc. He just stops dead in his tracks and gets so excited when they come out. Lastly, he got a tunnel for Christmas and now that he is crawling we brought it out. Surprisingly, he loved it! He crawled right through (with Cooper hot on his tracks) and smiled and laughed the whole time. I am so proud of him for trying new things and loving them all :) It just shows us what a big boy he is - so much fun!

As for baby #2, we are officially in our second trimester!!! Yay! Things are going well so far - I am still not showing, but I can feel baby kick and my appetite is getting very big :) We got our test results back and were told I had Ketones in my urine (meaning I need to eat more carbs) and that my Platelet level is low. My Platelet level was low with Wyatt and it caused some problems during delivery so we are being seen by the Perinatal team and labeled "high risk" so they can watch over me closely. Nothing too scary, but I am very happy they are watching me and the baby so closely.

This weekend we have Wyatt's first Easter - so exciting! I have an Easter egg basket ready and eggs to hide :) We can't wait to share this first Easter with Mr. Wyatt!

Have a great holiday!

Walking/Crawling Videos

Have you ever heard the saying, "be careful what you wish for..." Well we might be living that, Wyatt is on the move!! He is such a funny little guy, loves to explore. We wanted to post a couple clips of him walking (with a little help from his car walker).

And one of him crawling, if you turn up the sound you can hear him fussing the entire way, since he would rather walk :)

We are nearing the halfway point of Alicia's Birthday Month; or known to some as April, and we are watching Wyatt grow up and progress everyday!! He started saying "BaBa" yesterday to double his vocabulary to 2 words now, still no Dada, soon I hope... The weather hasn't allowed for a lot of outdoor activity, but it has had its typical Spring Day Breaks to allow for a family walk and Wyatt to explore his favorite place, outside. We have remained busy and are looking forward to Easter and Alicia's Birthday!! Enjoy the second half of April and Happy Easter to all!

Cousin time (week 13 pregnancy)

Last Sunday we got together with Nick's family and had the three cousin boys together - they had fun! It was awesome to watch how they all interacted and how excited Wyatt was to be around people "his size" :) It confirms to me how well he will take to a sibling. Although Jake is 7 weeks older, I think Wyatt has overtaken him in height...but Jake still has the girth and toughness on Wyatt. I think Jake enjoyed having Wyatt there as something to hold on to when he wanted to get up :) Luke thought they were both funny and went along with playing and hanging out. All in all, it was super fun to have them all together. Here are a few pics from the day:

As for baby #2, we are officially in our last week of the first trimester...I thought it would never get here! I can tell a difference in energy already, which I need since Wyatt is on the move. I am still not really "showing" but I have a little bump if you look close :) My maternity clothes are out of the attic and awaiting the day I will need them. I'm sure it will be soon :) Baby is now the size of a medium shrimp, all major organs are in place and finger prints are forming as we speak. We have our next appointment on May 11th and will schedule our gender ultra sound at that time. Can't wait!

We are looking forward to Wyatt's first Easter and easter egg hunt next weekend - I will be sure to post up a couple pictures afterward :) Here are a few from this morning to tie you over...

Happy almost Easter!

Guess who's crawling...:)

Yep - it has finally happened...Wyatt is moving! And I am already tired :) He made his first trip yesterday afternoon from his bedroom into the hallway and from there has made his way through the house. We are super excited and so proud of him - what a big boy! He would still rather walk (with assistance), but at least he can get to where he wants to be on his own. It is now REALLY time to babyproof this house...you know what our weekend plans are ;)

Yay for Wyatt boy!

LA Trip and Wedding (week 11 and 12 pregnancy)

Our good friends Jared and Seyhan (Houk!) got married this past weekend in Redondo Beach at an incredible location, and we were lucky enough to be invited and included. Nick was actually the one asked to marry them and he was beyond honored. So, Rev Nick performed his duties and what an incredible job he did! It was just a beautiful ceremony and wonderful reception...congrats to the Houk's!

While in LA, we took some time to check out local spots, walk along the pier, get a HORRIBLE sunburn (that was just me, but I am paying for my sunning time) and sleep in :) We ended up having great weather Sunday and Monday and enjoyed sunny California. Little man was with Mike and Laurie for half the trip and my parents for the last night/day. Thank you so much to all of them for taking such great care of him and for giving us a much needed break :)

Wyatt's favorite thing in the world right now is walking...and it is all he wants to do. Of course, he is not quite ready to venture out on his own, so it means we are holding his hand walking a million circles in our family room :) I do love his determination though...at this rate he will be climbing the walls in a few short weeks!

As for baby #2, we had our dr appt last Monday and all is well! We heard the heartbeat and met our new doctor - who we just love. We also got our first trimester screening tests back and all are negative - whew! So far so good...only one week and we will be in the second trimester. I can't believe it!

As many know, this is my birthday "Month" and my favorite month at that :) I am looking forward to celebrating with my family and friends as I bring on my last year in the 20's!

Happy April,
The Bales
