Five months old!

I swear, time is flying right by us...we already have a 5 month old! He is so much fun and we are enjoying every moment we have with him. He is now "fake" coughing (which is so fun!), laughing like crazy, sitting up for periods by himself, rolling over, playing with toys, teething (come on teeth!), looking at books, eating bananas and rice cereal, holding his own spoon and bottle (sometimes) and just exploring the world. He has not had any interest in trying to crawl, but that is okay with me :) Once he moves we will be in trouble!

He got a new high chair for Christmas (thanks mom and dad!) and is enjoying his rice cereal in it :)

Wyatt's First Christmas

Wyatt had a busy and eventful first Christmas - we spent time with both Grandparents, friends, extended family and managed to have Christmas morning just the three of us :) Wyatt did extremely well and was such a good boy - we are so blessed to have an easy going baby! He also made out on the gift front...he got a wagon, clothes, and tons of new toys.

A couple pictures of the festivities:

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and are so happy to have time to look around and be thankful for everything we have.

Happy New Year!

Dad's 60th birthday!

My dad's birthday is Christmas day (which sucks!) so we always try to make it special. However, this year was even more important since it was his 60th! We made a cake, put together a slideshow (who loves short shorts?!) and...drum roll please...got him 3rd row tickets to see Eric Clapton :) I would say he had a good one and is ringing in his 60th year in style...

Here is the slideshow we made for him:

Guess who got Santa Clause'd...

Nick's sister hates blow up lawn ornaments...and we happened to have a blow up Santa. Guess who now has the blow up Santa :)

Wyatt and Duck Santa

Yesterday we found out that Duck Santa was at the Duck store downtown (thank you Tay and Brad!) and took little man down there to meet him :) He did very well! No crying, but no real laughing either. Since we were there and Tay and Brad came down with us, we got a pic of all of us with the Duck together. It was fun to get the pics and show our duck love...

Good and bad news

We have had some bad news and good news this past week...first, Nick's grandpa passed away last Thursday and although we were all as prepared as possible it was very difficult. The funeral was on Tuesday and it was attended by about 500 people. It just proves how many people Tom touched - he was a great man. Nick spoke at the funeral and did such a wonderful job capturing who his grandpa was. So proud of my wonderful hubby :)

As for the good news, I accepted a position yesterday at Cardwell Creative! I am beyond excited to work with them and even more excited that it is part time from home...the perfect job for me right now. I officially start Jan 1st, but am attending a client meeting tomorrow in Salem. I can't wait to work again and love that it works around my home life. The best of both worlds :) Of course, I came home to flowers, champagne, dinner and a clean house...I really do have the best husband in the world.

Also, thank you to my mom for watching little man through the interview process and funeral day.

As for Wyatt, he is teething terribly right now, but we think those little buggers are almost through on the bottom! Woo hoo! He is getting SO big I can't even believe it...not to mention all that hair this kid has! :) We can't even wrap our heads around the fact that he will be 5 months old on the 27th...where does the time go?! He is loving Christmas - the music, the lights, the parties and everything else that comes with it. So glad he is here with us this year and excited to celebrate with him :)

Now we get ready for the holidays and the fun parties and family gatherings...looking forward to this Christmas and 2011. Hope it is a wonderful time for the year for everyone and that 2011 is a great year!

Christmas Story, Civil War and Santa

This past weekend was a full one with lots of exciting, fun events. Friday night we went to "The Christmas Story" play with the Myers and Richardson's - this was an anniversary gift for me because it is my FAVORITE Christmas movie. I have to say, it was really good and they followed the movie as best as they could. Thank you to my wonderful husband for such a fun gift :)

Saturday was of course the Civil War where we got to watch our Ducks kill the Beavers and clench a spot in the National Championship game. Nick's parents hosted a wonderful party and there was plenty of celebrating to go around. Bonus - Wyatt fit into his "I love my Ducks" onesie...thanks auntie!

Sunday we got up and went to Tualatin Country Club's Christmas brunch for the kids...it was so fun to see Wyatt interested in all the other kids. Next year will be a blast since he will be able to "get it" a little more. The highlight was that he got to meet Santa for the first time :) He did great for the pictures and then Santa had a talk with him about "how this all works"...it was adorable :)

In other news, I have an interview today, which is bitter sweet...I am excited about getting a job, but sad my time home with little man is almost at an end. Anyway, hopefully it goes well and I can join the employed world again :)

Here are a few pics from the weekend:

Wyatt's First Christmas Tree

Today we headed out to Leach's Farm where we have gotten our tree for the last 4 years and picked out Wyatt's first Christmas tree :) It was a great day weather wise and Wyatt was very interested in all the trees. We found a perfect little 7 footer and took it home to set up and decorate. Wyatt loved watching me put up the lights, but was bored with the ornaments...typical boy :) We love our first "Bales Family Tree" and can't wait for Wyatt's first Christmas!

Happy Holidays,
